Job Summary Reporting to the Africa Regions (AR) Treasurer, the AR Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) Specialist will share responsibility for the effective and proactive management and execution of FTP across the AR which spans 10 subsidiaries in 9 markets across Africa.
This senior leader in the AR Treasury team will support the execution of the AR FTP Policy and Framework, by enabling commercially relevant pricing methodologies applicable to each Country and the Businesses operating in each Country. Provide financial leadership, analytical insight, and business partnering that drives risk-return alignment, pricing appropriateness under local market dynamics , and delivery against AR strategic objectives and financial plans.
This incumbent will collaborate with Finance, Treasury and Technology teasm at the AR Centre and in- Country as required, and be responsible for reviewing and assessing appropriate FTP methodologies, execution and frameworks at a legal entity level and for Pan CIB, Retail and Business Bank businesses.

Setting and Review of effective FTP curves with in-Country Treasuries
Lead the management and pricing of the relevant AR Entity assets and liabilities under the FTP framework, ensuring local economic, funding, strategic growth and Business requirements are effectively managed, in line with the AR FTP Policy.
Lead effective engagement and communications to the AR Heads of FTP, Business leads, AR Treasury Committee and the relevant Country ALCOs relating to FTP methodologies, changes in frameworks, incentives use, impact on Business performance in a timely manner.
Provide subject-matter- expertise to the Entity and its Businesses on setting pricing strategies to enhance Primacy, optimise funding costs and support Business strategic growth ambitions, as considered appropriate.
Proactively advise on changes in FTP curves required in Country to drive optimal funding strategies and plans to support market share growth; returns and cost reductions, engaging with the AR Heads of FTP, Entity ALCOs and Business Heads ensuring a resilient liquidity risk position
Proactively advise on changes in interest rate environments and the impacts and changes required to Entity PnLs
Proactively advise on changes in cash reserving requirements and the impacts and changes required to Entity product pricing
Review and challenge relevant country FTP curves at least monthly ensuring pricing is effective to operating environment, funding requirement and strategic growth plans on a current and projected basis. Stay abreast with macro developments and industry and peer developments in the area of FTP to ensure approaches remain in line with best practice.
Oversight and monitoring of FTP impact on Business performance
Ensure effective and timely communication to Entities and Business leads on the monthly changes in FTP in relevant countries, advising of changes in pricing curves and drivers of impact on Business PnL
Conduct sensitivity and "what-if" analysis as required to understand potential FTP outcomes and related risks for new products, changes proposed to FTP methodologies and strategic overlays
Lead the production of training material, AR Treasury Committee governance papers, ensuring the appropriate governance is followed for FTP changes and proposals.
Lead the review and refresh of the AR FTP Policy and required Standards
Ensure FTP curves are effectively set and communicated for LCY and FCY to Business and ARO Treasury Centre in line with the ARO Funds Transfer Pricing Standard and the Bank's internal governance requirements
AR Global Markets Business Engagement
Lead engagement with AR Global Markets team, ensuring funding limits and exposures are effectively implemented and monitored, in support of Business growth and Entity liquidity requirements at least on a monthly basis
Maintain a credible relationship with this Trading business ensuring the FLM and FTP frameworks are well understood by the Centre and Country GM business teams, in line with the AR Treasury and AR Global Markets mandate
Ensure timely engagement and response to this Business team ensuring effective support to the Business
Strategic Forecasting & FTP Planning
Lead the setting of FTP curves with in country Treasurers for MTP, STP, RAF ensuring the current and projected operating environment is effectively reflected in pricing curves
Lead the quantification of PnL impacts on Business through the planning period and ensure curves are provided to Centre Business in a timely manner ahead of the Business planning process commencing.
Lead FTP engagements with the AR Heads of FTP, Finance, AR Treasury Committee, Country ALCOs and AR Business Forums, advising on strategic planning requirements; determining changes required to FTP and preparing updates for the relevant AR and Group Commitees as part of the integrated planning process
Analytics and Business Partnering
Deliver robust analytics that inform balance sheet movements and impact on Business PnL at a product level and on a holistic AR Business level for Retail, Business Bank and CIB
Consolidate and interpret performance data across products, customer segments, and business units to guide commercial strategy and FTP impacts and changes required
Maintain oversight of FTP risks and opportunities, including pricing policy exceptions, hurdle requirements and changes to Country macro-economic policies that will impact the FTP framework
Collaborate with Business, in country Treasury, and Finance to ensure FTP changes and impacts are well understood in a timely manner, leading on transactional pricing dispensation requests as required.
Competencies
Deep subject-matter- expertise in Funds Transfer Pricing methodologies and implementations in large commercial banking groups, ideally with Africa Regional experience
Highly numerate with a strong analytical background.
Strong experience with senior management reporting, influence and stakeholder management in an Africa Regions role ideally
Sound attention to detail and diligent in managing processes to a high standard
Keen interest in developing technical skills in risk management and the impact of in-country market dynamics on FLM and FTP
Effective communicator and able to present technical content in a meaningful manner to Senior management, driving strong strategic leadership and execution of FTP with Business management
Well organised and able to manage multiple responsibilities to deadlines
Able to interact efficiently and professionally with business stakeholders.

Education And Experience Required
Minimum B-degree (NQF level no.7)
10+ years professional financial management experience
Preferred team lead in a Treasury or Finance FTP Function teams or in professional environments
Experience in business transformation contexts related to business growth
Experienced in Senior Management and Committee management
Broad Finance including strategic, commercial, legal, risk and operational aspects
Ability to build, develop & lead professional level teams
Understanding of the financial services sector within a professional business environment
Knowledge of people change management
Education
Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
