To manage and optimise Vodacom's digital library as a strategic knowledge resource, supporting employees of all eight OpCos, all subsidiaries, and strategic partners with high-quality information, research services, and curated content aligned with organisational goals. To manage and deliver high-quality research, data, and information services across the organisation. This hybrid role combines traditional reference services with advanced analysis, data interpretation, and AI-enhanced knowledge tools. To serve as a central resource for accurate information, ICT industry insights, and evidence-based decision-making, helping drive business intelligence and innovation across functions.

Your responsibilities will include:

Vodacom Digital library Operations & Quality Assurance



Assume overall responsibility for the running of the Vodacom Digital library: + Core operational oversight, ensuring systems, access, and content are maintained and optimised
+ Ensure the delivery of high-quality information and research services to meet evolving business needs
Evaluate AI and data analytics tools to enhance information discovery and operational efficiency Develop taxonomies and metadata structures to improve findability and information management. Promote critical data literacy, ethical AI use, and evidence-based practices across the organisation. Stay current with developments in information science, data analytics, AI, and ICT industry trends Build new library services and delivery mechanisms to meet the organisations information needs, and manage the existing library suit of products and services Support all Vodacom Employees and strategic partners with information and research (supervised by EHOD) Manage all matters relating to Vodacom Digital library staff, training and marketing: + Covers HR and development aspects, ensuring staff are skilled and the Vodacom Digital library is well-promoted internally
+ Promote a culture of continuous learning and service excellence within the Vodacom Digital library team
+ Drive upskilling initiatives to ensure library staff are equipped to work with emerging technologies and AI tools

Establish and maintain a collaborative communication network between the Vodacom Digital library, Vodacom OPCOs, subsidiaries, and Vodafone Group



Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Business Units to understand and meet their information needs. Establish and maintain a collaborative communication network between the Vodacom Digital library, Vodacom OPCOs, subsidiaries, and Vodafone Group. Ensure seamless information sharing and strategic alignment across entities. Integrate partnership content with the Vodacom Digital library content and the reference and research process

Budget & Financial Stewardship



Manage the subscription services, memberships and publications budget for the Vodacom Digital library Facilitate and control expenditure within the Vodacom Digital library budget Ensures fiscal discipline and alignment with broader organisational budgeting Acquire and manage digital resources that support Vodacom's strategic objectives Ensure cost-effectiveness, relevance, and alignment with organisational priorities Strategic resource curation to support Vodacom's strategic imperatives Draft budget reports and other related documentation (motivations etc.) as required Administrative and reporting duties to support decision-making and transparency Manage relationships with Research companies Vendor & Licensing - Negotiate contracts, manage subscriptions, evaluate vendor performance

Innovation, AI & Knowledge Systems



Build and maintain systems and collaborative communication networks for effective information management Interpret data and leverage AI-enhanced knowledge tools to improve access, insight, and automation Lead the implementation of new technologies and AI-driven solutions to enhance library services and user experience Identify opportunities for digital innovation and contribute to Vodacom's broader digital transformation agenda

Research & Information Support



Deliver expert-level reference and research support using both traditional and AI-powered tools across departments Act as a central resource for accurate information, ICT industry insights, and evidence-based decision-making. Handle complex research queries and develop specialised guides. Ensure that reference librarian expertise is a core competency within the team, enabling advanced research support and strategic insight delivery. Produce and disseminate subject-specific newsletters proactively for the ICT industry, highlighting key trends, data insights, and strategic implications. Provide timely, relevant information to support decision-making for EXCO and all Vodacom staff. Support Vodacom Group Strategy, including the strategy review process, and all Business Units with information. Address the information needs of Vodacom and its stakeholders for business and business development. Identify and communicate any indicators relating to ICT and Financial Services industry

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Bbibl degree or degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) Mininum of 5 years in corporate library environment Experience in corporate library services, research and analysis Library management Web based systems experience Experience in the ICT industry Proficiency in HTML coding Excellent at using MS Office suite especially
