Job Summary Job Title: Senior Sous Chef Zambia Location: Zambia Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Primary Industry: Travel, Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality Secondary Industry: Travel, Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality Job Duties: Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation Supervise and train kitchen staff in preparation, cooking, and presentation of food Ensure high-quality dishes are served on time Oversee food safety and sanitation standards Manage kitchen inventory and budget Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new menu items Required Qualifications: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie Excellent leadership and organisational skills Ability to remain calm and work under pressure Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures Education: Formal culinary training or relevant qualification Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of best practises for food safety and sanitation Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong attention to detail Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a high-volume restaurant or hotel Additional certifications in culinary arts Working Conditions: Fast-paced kitchen environment May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Physical demands including standing, walking, and lifting heavy items
