Ivanplats is looking for a Senior Sinking Surveyor X 1 REF:IVP-SSS-2501
IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this mine of the future. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.
Suitable candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Mine Surveyor's Certificate of Competency (South Africa)
• National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying
• Precision alignment and control transfer
• Data management and reporting
• Stakeholder communication and coordination
• Problem-solving under operational pressures
• Safety-focused mindset
• High attention to detail
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Continuous improvement orientation

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• Minimum 5 years in shaft sinking survey operations, including Slype and Line work
• Proven track record in deep-level mining survey environments

Your successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Establish, maintain, and verify the survey control network for shaft sinking operations
• Transfer surface control underground and align shaft steelwork and excavation
• Verify grade lines and ensure compliance with MHSA Regulation 17
• Collect, process, and update all survey data; maintain shaft sinking plans and as-built drawings
• Produce regular survey reports for project management
• Ensure all survey activities comply with MHSA and company safety standards
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure proper use of PPE
• Coordinate with project management, shaft engineers, and contractors
• Maintain and ensure availability of survey equipment and software
