Senior Service Charge Accountant - Property Management

Role Overview:
We are seeking multiple
Senior Service Charge Accountants
based in South Africa, preferably within the Western Cape, to support our London-based finance team. You will work closely with Service Charge Account Managers, Credit Controllers, Accounts Administrators, and Property Managers. The ideal candidate has strong property accounting experience, a deep understanding of service charge management, and proven team leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accruals, prepayments, and trial balances
Prepare annual leasehold and company accounts in line with ACCA/ICAEW standards
Liaise with external auditors and accountants
Communicate with clients and property managers to resolve queries and ensure accurate cost allocation
Manage year-end surplus/deficit charges for lessee accounts
Perform bank reconciliations and manage service charge and ground demands
Oversee accounts payable/receivable and monitor unpaid supplier invoices
Support credit controllers with arrears collection
Draft budgets, including 10-year plans, and process approved budgets
Process supplier invoices and monitor outstanding payments
Requirements:
Degree-level qualification and professional accreditation (SAICA or equivalent)
Experience managing a finance team
Strong technical skills, advanced MS Excel and Word proficiency
Property accounting experience and familiarity with accounting systems
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Based in the Western Cape with easy commute to Stellenbosch
Salary and Benefits:
R25,000 - R27,000 per month (depending on experience)
15 days annual leave (plus South African public holidays)
Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 18:00 (SA times
Remote work arrangement with occasional visits to Stellenbosch

Applicants must be based in the Cape Town/Winelands area or nearby, with the ability to attend occasional in-person meetings in Stellenbosch. A stable internet connection is essential, particularly during load shedding.
