Senior SAP Technical Consultant - Hybris (Web and Online Applications experience)
Duration: 12-month Contract, renewable based on performance.
Location:
Cape Town, South Africa
Hybrid work model: 4 days per week on-site, 1 day remote.
Overview:
We are looking for a skilled SAP Technical Consultant (Hybris / SAP Commerce Cloud) to join our Cape Town-based technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong retail industry experience and a solid background in web and online applications development.
You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining cutting-edge e-commerce platforms using SAP Commerce Cloud, ensuring seamless integration with SAP and non-SAP systems to deliver an exceptional digital retail experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) solutions tailored to retail and e-commerce operations.
Build and extend custom modules, APIs, and integrations with SAP ERP / S/4HANA and third-party systems (e.g., payment gateways, logistics, CRM, loyalty).
Configure and enhance Hybris modules such as Product Content Management (PCM), WCMS, Order Management (OMS), and Promotions.
Develop and optimize Impex scripts, FlexibleSearch queries, and synchronization processes for product and pricing data.
Ensure scalability, security, and performance of web applications through best-practice coding and architecture principles.
Collaborate with UI/UX and front-end teams to deliver high-performing, user-friendly online customer journeys.
Support and troubleshoot production issues in live retail and e-commerce environments.
Work closely with the DevOps and QA teams to manage CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and releases.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of the development process.
Required Skills & Experience:
3-8 years of hands-on experience in SAP Hybris / SAP Commerce Cloud development.
Strong proficiency in Java / Spring Framework / J2EE.
Proven experience developing web and online applications, preferably within the retail or e-commerce sector.
Deep understanding of SAP Commerce Backoffice, HAC/HMC, Impex, SmartEdit, and FlexibleSearch.
Experience integrating Hybris with SAP ERP / S/4HANA, SAP CPI, and external systems (CRM, OMS, payment, logistic
