Job Description

Purpose:

  • To design, develop, test, and deploy Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions that streamline and automate business processes across. This role contributes to strategic objective to modernise systems and increase the use of data and digital technologies to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
  • Analyse business processes and identify opportunities for automation using Microsoft Power Platform tools.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and process owners to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy RPA bots in accordance with SARS's governance and security standards.
  • Maintain and monitor bots to ensure optimal performance and resolve any issues.
  • Document automation solutions and provide training/support to end-users and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with SARS's data privacy, cybersecurity, and internal control policies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the RPA Centre of Excellence. Apply and utilise systems in a manner that ensures efficient and effective service delivery, optimised quality, financial accuracy and calculation.
  • Apply processes to improve data validation across service delivery systems in line with operational targets.
  • Design, model and document Process Solutions Specifications.
  • Ensure that business requirements are clearly identified, prioritised and satisfied by appropriate technical and or business process solutions.
  • Provide process solution support to institutionalise process initiatives.
  • Analyse and make recommendations about improvements to specialist systems, procedures, policies and practices.
  • Draw on own technical or professional expertise, knowledge and experience to identify and recommend tactical solutions to defined problems in practices.
  • Influence and communicate across business areas impacted by practice area to minimise resistance and ensure on-boarding of new thinking.
  • Proactively identify interconnected problems, determine its impact and use to develop best fit alternatives, developing best practice solutions.
  • Recommend changes to optimise processes, systems, practice areas and associated procedures and execute the implementation of change and innovation.
  • Ensure that completed work adhere to relevant policies, procedures, governance and legislative requirements and report on deviations and discrepancies.
  • Provide specialist know-how, support, advice and practice thought leadership in area of expertise.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
  • 8 years' experience in software development, of which 5 years at a specialist level. At least 4 years in RPA development.
  • Relevant bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Automate RPA Developer Associate. Scripting languages: Vbscript, Javascript.
  • .NET Framework.
  • Microsoft Dataverse.
  • Power Platform: Power Apps, Al Builder, Power Virtual Agents.
  • Ability to design scalable automation solutions.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML integration.
  • Understanding of business analysis and process engineering.
