Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and financial aspects of multiple construction contracts. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in cost control, risk management, and contractual compliance. This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proven ability to lead a team while driving project profitability. The Senior QS will work closely with the Contracts Manager and/or Site Agent to achieve production targets and maintain accurate project costs, forecasts, and reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Initiation: Thoroughly understand contract agreements and tenders to ensure compliance and accurate project setups.
Contract Planning: Assist in formulating construction plans, including contract administration, subcontract management, and procurement.

Financial Management: Control budgets, monitor expenditure, and oversee monthly financial assessments, including cash flow and cost analyses.
Contract Execution: Manage and supervise financial and commercial aspects of contracts, oversee subcontractor financial management, and ensure timely payment processes.
Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with Employers Agents, prepare and submit monthly revenue applications, and ensure transparent communication of contract financials.
Team Leadership: Supervise QS and Junior QS team members, drive productivity, and support their development.
Risk Management: Maintain risk schedules, resolve contractual issues, and ensure adherence to all relevant financial KPIs and regulations.
Qualifications:
Education:
National Diploma in Quantity Surveying (Minimum)
BSc in Quantity Surveying (Minimum)
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years in a quantity surveying role, ideally with experience managing multiple contracts with a contractor.
Skills:
Proficient in WinQS, CCS, BuildSmart, and advanced Excel for cost tracking, reporting, and project control.
Strong analytical skills, technical knowledge, and attention to detail.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and supervisory skills.
