ESTIMATOR/QUANTITY SURVEYOR POSITION

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Silo Construction SA, a subsidiary company is looking for an

estimator will be responsible for technical price estimations/ and complete BOQ's for following types of works (general building work and civil engineering work mainly but not limited to).

Responsibilities:

Prepare thorough and complete cost estimates for enquiries / contracts
? Review tender documents and project specifications in detail
? Use tender/bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis and BOQ's
? Obtain quotes from suppliers for pricing or running projects
? Prepare quotes according to specifications
? Attend tender briefings, occasionally on site, as and when required
? Analyse data such as labour costs, equipment, materials, subcontracts, overheads, insurance, and any other costs that affect the contracts
? Compiling and recording actual costs
? Prepare quotes for general telephonic enquiries
? Follow up on orders and liaise with the client accordingly
? Obtain and collate information for tenders
? Assist Contracts Manager with claims as and when required
? Assist Contracts Manager with cost advice and price information during all stages of the contract
? Maintaining electronic filing systems on all enquiries

REQUIREMENTS

? BTech/ BSc degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building Science, Building Management, or Construction Engineering
? Professional Registration will be an added advantage
? 5-10 years of experience
? Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
? Expertise with analytic tools such as spreadsheets and database managers
? Ability to review, read and interpret technical documents and prepare quantities needed
? Ability to manage multiple tender enquiries through exceptional time management skills
? Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
? Comfortable in use of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to develop plans on Microsoft Projects
? Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
? Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
? Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
? Valid Driver's License
