Job Description

1. Functional and Operational Leadership




Lead assigned QHSE area (e.g., Micro Sampling, Traceability, GMP, Environmental, etc.) on a rotating basis. Actively develop subject matter expertise in the assigned focus area and ensure team compliance with all SOPs and standards. Manage QCs ad CCP Champions, oversee their rosters, daily activities, and KPI performance. Rotate responsibilities weekly with fellow Senior QHSE Officers as per departmental matrix.

2. Audit & Certification Support




Assist in preparing for and conducting internal, supplier, and third-party audits (ISO, customer, health department). Coordinate and conduct regular HACCP, hygiene, food safety, and operational ins Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 systems including internal review cycles and Management Review Meeting preparation.

3. Quality Assurance & Food Safety Oversight




Monitor product shelf life, expired stock, FIFO and FEFO compliance in chillers, freezers, and stores. Support pest control program implementation and follow-up. Verify environmental swabbing, food sampling, and surface/hand hygiene compliance.

4. Non-Conformance & Corrective Action Management




Raise and log non-conformances (NCs) for all audit, inspection, or operational failures. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), implement corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely NC closure.

5. Training & Team Development




Deliver induction, refresher, and ad-hoc training for QC, production, and other operational staff on hygiene, GHP, GMP, PPE use, and food safety. Conduct Toolbox Talks and practical skills coaching on key QHSE topics. Support continuous upskilling of QHSE team members and promote awareness of ICARE values.

6. Equipment & Verification




Manage and verify calibration of scales, thermometers, and measuring equipment. Maintain and track internal verification records and schedules. Check and record chemical usage, sanitizer concentration, and overall chemical compliance.

7. Traceability & Product Sampling




Perform routine and scheduled traceability drills and product recalls. Collect and document product samples for laboratory analysis or customer requirements. Manage retention samples, golden samples, and ensure full traceability documentation is maintained.

8. Documentation, Communication & Reporting




Submit daily shift handover reports to the QHSE Manager/Deputy. Compile and submit accurate weekly KPI, audit summaries, NC logs, and status updates. Maintain all required documentation for ISO audits, training, inspections, and SOPs.

9. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance




Ensure all HSE procedures are followed and hazards, near misses, and accidents are reported immediately. Support the implementation and monitoring of HSSE system. Report and resolve unsafe working conditions or behaviours swiftly and decisively.

10. Other Duties




Maintain stock levels of QHSE materials (chemicals, first aid kits, PPE). Monitor use of company assets and ensure minimal wastage

Authority




Authority to enforce compliance and recommend or execute disciplinary action for repeated or critical QHSE violations under guidance of QHSE Manager and HR.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)




100% completion of all assigned audits, verifications, and traceability checks. Timely closure of all raised non-conformances with supporting evidence. Accurate, on-time submission of reports (daily, weekly, audit summaries). Number of staff trained/coached and effectiveness of training. Compliance rate with HACCP/GHP/GEMBA walk inspections. Full participation in ICARE and food safety improvement activities. Maintenance of equipment calibration and verification schedules. Documentation and traceability completeness for all samples and records.

Qualifications




Grade 12 National diploma in Food Technology/Food safety HACCP Knowledge Full Competent in Microsoft Office



Experience




3 Year Experience

Skills




Ability to conduct accurate quality checks. Accuracy of temperature checks and CCP recording. Basic knowledge of quality Processes.

Competencies:




Ability to deliver appropriate information to the right people. Ability to communicate. * Ability to do basic trainings.
