Minimum SAIW Level 2/CSWIP 3.2
At least 10 years' experience as a Welding QC Inspector and 5 years in a Management/Senior role.

Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience:

  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Proven experience with ISO9001 and ISO3834 standard.
  • General understanding and familiarity of fabrication specifications, e.g. AWS D1.1 & ASME IX, B31.3
  • General understanding and familiarity of NDE (MT, PT, RT, UT) methods and reports.
  • General understanding and familiarity of fabrication processes. E.g. Welding, cutting, rolling etc.
  • Oil and Gas, riser and capital drilling equipment knowledge of processes and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
Responsibilities / Duties / Job Skills:
  • Perform and coordinate duties of quality control inspection, including material, dimensional welding, NDT, inspections, accepting or rejecting questionable or unsatisfactory conditions in workmanship or material or referring to higher authority of decision making.
  • Assisting QC Staff and others in performing quality duties and the interpretation and application of standards, codes and specifications.
  • Delegate duties and responsibilities to quality inspectors and ensure compliance with the appropriate
  • Act as Quality Representative on Projects, as instructed by management.
  • Oversee, Prepare, update and follow up Production documents (including but not limited to Welding Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), associated Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welder Qualification Records (WQR)) subject to project and internal requirements.
  • Oversee, Monitor and record the upkeep of welder qualification matrix, PQR register, weld defect register and calibration of measuring equipment.
  • Collection, maintenance and monitoring of all Quality Control records of the Quality Documentary System.
  • Prepare and monitor quality procedures for approval.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures in compliance with ISO9001 and ISO3834 standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Liaise with internal/external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • To continuously review quality control processes, procedures and capabilities in order to sustain the most cost effective and efficient methods for meeting quality requirements and making recommendations for improvement as appropriate on project level.
  • Review customer QC requirements and ensure that quality control documentation for a project meets contractual requirements. Attend 'Start Up' meetings and assist Project Managers with project preparation.
  • Coordinate with third party and NDT companies subject to project requirements, upon request of QC Manager or Project Manager (e.g. NDT, certify load and/or pressure tests, third party assigned by the client etc.)
  • Coordinate the activity of the documentation process to meet the Project Manager's requirements concerning the completion of the fabrication data books.
  • Inform the project managers of any deviation regarding the contract.
  • Ensures the correct application of quality control phase.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out according to reference documentation.
  • Ensure that the tests, controls and inspections are carried out and that personnel have
Access to all required project documentation and reports.
  • Comply with all health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Collection and maintenance of the Quality Control records of the Quality Documentary
system.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions when a problem is raised at any level.
  • Manage and coordinate dimensional, visual, NDT and corrosion protection inspections
activities.
  • Coordinate, monitor and prepare procedures for approval.
