Requirements
A BTech Engineering degree.
Registered as Professional Engineering Technologist.
A Master's degree will serve as an advantage.
Five (5) to eight (8) years' relevant experience within development
hydraulic modelling, master planning and construction.
Experience in Wadiso and Sewsan model software will be an
advantage.
Computer literacy in MS Office.
Physically fit and able-bodied.
Key Performance Areas
Managing and undertaking the compilation, annual update,
utilisation, operation and information reporting from an Integrated
Infrastructure Hydraulic model and Master Plan which incorporates
the planning of the engineering unit of the Reticulation Branch and
alignment with the capital programme.
Managing and undertaking the routine assessment of bulk
development applications or proposals, based on the Master Plan
and Hydraulic models (water and sanitation models), while
incorporating the operational and planning input of the
operational units and project implementation section, all in order
to evaluate the ability of the infrastructure to service such
developments.
Managing and undertaking ad hoc non-routine modelling and
capacity evaluations and studies of the water and sanitation
infrastructure system, to evaluate the impact of major
Departmental initiatives, Spatial Planning, Town Planning, Human
Settlement or Private sector development proposals in terms of
the capacity of current and proposed infrastructure capacity to
satisfy projected water demand, the development and costing
of conceptual design alternatives and amendments to the
Master Plan.
Facilitating or undertaking specialist advisory support and
research thereon to the branch on innovative or strategic
investigations by applying broadly defined engineering principles.
Providing support to the Branch for the development and update
of its short, medium (five-year)-to long-term (10- to 20-year)
