Senior Production Technician - Somerset West Full job description A leading aerospace technology company is looking for an exceptional and passionate technician to join their dynamic production team. Successful candidates will be part of a team specializing in various processes across aerospace production. Roles and Responsibilities: The Senior Production Technician's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Taking a senior role in assembly, testing, design, development, implementation, and verification of systems, subsystems, testers, and associated software, hardware, and algorithms related to the company's products and services. Contributing to project outputs, including all design, documentation, and verification artifacts. Managing prototyping and assembly facilities, including tooling, spares, stock, and infrastructure, while maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, AS 9100, and other quality standards. Overseeing stores and stock management in alignment with AS9100 standards, ensuring all materials and components are organized, safely stored, and properly accounted for. Conducting incoming inspections of components to verify quality, quantity, and authenticity, ensuring precise documentation within the ERP system. Collaborating with the Quality Manager to perform formal quality inspections on electronic and mechanical components to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and product specifications. Generating project outputs, including design, testing, documentation, production, and verification artifacts. Implementing system engineering processes, plans, and policies relevant to specific projects. Performing minor support roles within the company as required. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: B-Tech Degree / Advanced Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Required Skills and Experience: 4 - 5 years of relevant industry experience. Familiarity with electronic components, PCBs, and soldering. Recommended Skills and Experience: Electronic production. Electromechanical integration. Electronic testing. Integration testing. Product qualification and stress testing. Production procurement. General Skills: Ability to learn quickly and absorb new information. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills for large projects. Ability to work independently. Strong problem-solving skills. High standard of communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
