SUMMARY:
The Senior Procurement Officer plays a critical role in ensuring that an organization's procurement activities are aligned with its business objectives and are conducted in a fair, transparent, and cost-effective manner.
POSITION INFO:
The Senior Procurement Officer is a key member of the procurement team, responsible for leading and managing all procurement activities. This role involves the development and execution of effective procurement strategies that drive cost savings, ensure operational efficiency, and support the organization's strategic objectives.
As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Conduct regular reviews of procurement policies and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, compliance, and value.
• Oversee the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for high-value events.
• Provide procurement guidance and support to the Department.
• Ensure adherence to procurement procedures and provide corrective feedback to Managers when non-compliance is identified.
• Manage the onboarding process for regular suppliers and ensure that all compliance documentation (e.g., BBBEE certificates, and tax clearance) are kept up to date annually.
• Continuously benchmark key expense categories and identify opportunities for cost savings or improved supplier value.
• Proactively negotiate volume-based rebate programs with suppliers to enhance cost efficiency and profitability.
• Configure the payroll system to ensure accurate employee classification and transaction coding for both statutory compliance and internal management reporting.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive payroll reports, including reconciliations, amendments, and variance analyses, for review and sign-off by the relevant Managers.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Operational Support:

• Enable departments to procure goods and services cost-effectively and in line with company policies, while ensuring governance and compliance.
• Support suppliers through the RFP process, onboarding, and ongoing compliance maintenance, including the annual collection of updated BBBEE certificates.
• Respond to ad hoc requests from management promptly and professionally.
• Compliance & Risk Management:

• Monitor and support compliance with internal BBBEE targets and scoring requirements, flagging risks to Managers where actions may jeopardize compliance.
• Learning & Growth:

• Attend external training and industry workshops (minimum 10 hours per year) to stay current with legislative, tax, system, and procurement developments.
• Participate in internal team, departmental, and stakeholder meetings to remain informed on company developments and priorities.
• Proactively plan personal development and training to support effective job performance and lifelong learning goals.
• Contribute actively to team problem-solving sessions and innovation discussions to foster a culture of continuous improvement and a positive work environment.
• Take ownership of knowledge-sharing within your role and department to support long-term team and organizational growth.

What Do You Need?:

• Relevant

Degree. * Minimum 3 years working experience.

• Additional Certifications in Procurement are an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of payroll, taxation and

regulations. * Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills, mathematical comprehension and data analysis, good verbal and written communications skills and good organizational skills.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables.
