Our client is seeking a Senior Back-End Developer to join a highly skilled global engineering team responsible for building secure, reusable, and scalable infrastructure components used by developers worldwide.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer who thrives in complex environments, enjoys infrastructure enablement, and can confidently collaborate with experienced architects and DevOps professionals.
You will play a key role in designing and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, enabling development teams to deliver compliant and high-quality solutions at scale.

Product / Team Context
This role forms part of a focused platform engineering team responsible for enabling developers globally with secure, compliant, and reusable infrastructure components and reference architectures. The team works closely with architects and development teams to reduce duplication, standardise best practices, and improve delivery efficiency across cloud environments.
Qualifications & Experience

• IT Degree and/or relevant technical qualification
• 8+ years experience in back-end development, DevOps, or similar roles
• Strong understanding of Agile SDLC methodologies
• Proven experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams
• Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing skills

Essential Skills & Technologies

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Ansible
• Scripting & Automation: Bash, Python
• Cloud Platforms: AWS and/or Azure
• CI/CD Tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure design and automation

Advantageous Skills

• Kubernetes (manifests, Helm charts)
• Go, Python, or similar programming languages
• DevOps principles and practices
• Test automation for infrastructure and applications
• Monitoring and troubleshooting
• Development of reusable workflows and modules
• Interest or experience in AI and prompting techniques
• Passion for IT architecture and hands-on engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Terraform-based IaC for AWS and/or Azure
• Build reusable, modular Terraform modules and define best practices
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery
• Package and release Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts
• Integrate secret management solutions and enforce least-privilege access
• Implement automated validation and testing for IaC (e.g. tfsec, Checkov, Terratest)
• Troubleshoot infrastructure provisioning and runtime issues
• Produce technical documentation, runbooks, and onboarding material
• Collaborate with teams to translate requirements into reusable solutions
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and mentor other engineers
• Monitor platform health using metrics, logging, and alerting tools
