Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies' in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Senior People Transformation Manager to join the Head Office team. Responsible for driving and embedding transformation strategies that advance Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Employment Equity (EE), and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE). Oversees the successful execution of strategic people projects that align with business priorities, regulatory frameworks, and national transformation goals. The role champions systemic people and culture transformation, aligning organizational culture, leadership behaviors, talent systems, and regulatory compliance to support a more inclusive, equitable, and future-fit organization.
Minimum Requirements...
Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Transformation, Industrial Psychology, Public Policy, or related field or MBA
  • 10-12 years' progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior transformation or DEI/EE/B-BBEE role
  • Accredited in EE compliance, B-BBEE, or Change Management (e.g., Prosci)
  • Proven experience in leading employment equity submissions, transformation scorecards, and audits
  • Track record of delivering complex people-related projects within large, regulated, and/or matrixed organizations
  • Demonstrated leadership in navigating cultural and systemic change

Key Responsibilities...
1. People Transformation Strategy:
  • Design and deliver a comprehensive People Transformation Strategy aligned with national transformation goals, company values, and ESG objectives.
  • Transition the groups Transformation goals from compliance to strategic value creation.
2. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI):
  • Lead the DEI agenda to build inclusive cultures that celebrate difference, promote psychological safety, and remove structural barriers to opportunity.
  • Partner with P&C teams in designing and implementing inclusive leadership development, employee resource groups, and inclusive policy reviews.
3. Workforce Equity & Transformation Compliance (EE + B-BBEE Integration):
Employment Equity (EE):
  • Develop and implement EE strategies in compliance with the Employment Equity Act and related Codes of Good Practice.
  • Lead the submission of annual EE Reports and long-term EE Plans, ensuring alignment with the Department of Employment and Labour.
Broad-Based Black Economic Empowment (B-BBEE):
  • Lead strategy execution for B-BBEE pillars relevant to Human Capital Factors: Management Control, Employment Equity, and Skills Development.
Integrated Workforce Equity:
  • Develop dashboards to monitor EE and B-BBEE progress and integrate findings into People strategy and business planning.
4. People Strategic Project Delivery:
  • Lead strategic HR projects aligned to transformation, such as HR systems modernization, operating model redesign, and leadership pipeline acceleration.
  • Ensure project governance, on-time delivery, and measurable impact using project management frameworks (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Governance:
  • Chair or support internal governance forums (e.g., EE Committee, Transformation Steering Committee) and provide input into Board Committees (e.g., Social and Ethics Committee), and industry forums on transformation matters.
  • Lead governance structures such as the Transformation Steering Committee, ensuring alignment and accountability.
6. Analytics, Reporting & Insights:
  • Develop real-time reporting dashboards on DEI, EE, B-BBEE, and project milestones using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SAP SuccessFactors.
