Duties and responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and manage research agreements.
  • Prepare all information for reporting to NIPMO, TIA, university structures, and any other mandated reporting bodies.
  • Engage in stakeholder liaison activities.
  • Liaise between DRD and project owners at faculties to ensure progress on projects.
  • Maintain and update the Research Information Management System (RIMS).
  • Responsible for financial administration.
  • Responsible for project management of the TIA Seed Funded projects and any other projects at DRD.
Inherent requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree or a B-Tech on NQF level 7.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' relevant working experience relating to the duties and responsibilities.
Recommendations:
  • A minimum of two years relevant experience working in a university or similar environment.
  • A general understanding of compliance relating to university policies e.g. delegation of authority, procurement, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Research Information Management System (RIMS).
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft, especially Excel.
  • Project management experience word useful.
  • Any training/experience related to intellectual property and/ or contract management would be useful.
  • Any business skills or business management experience would be useful.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
