We are seeking an experienced

Senior Network Engineer

to join our team. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain network solutions while ensuring security, performance, and stability across our infrastructure. This position involves hands-on technical work as well as collaboration with internal teams to support both business and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities



Manage and monitor network infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability. Proactively troubleshoot issues, escalating where necessary to minimise downtime. Plan and implement network changes, upgrades, and new site deployments. Configure routing and switching, with proficiency in routing protocols and switching technologies. Provide ongoing support and maintenance for both residential and commercial client networks. Execute scheduled system changes and updates with minimal disruption. Assist with planning and delivery of IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and outages. Identify infrastructure growth opportunities that align with business objectives. Contribute to strategies for expanding customer network reach. Collaborate with other business units to align IT services with project requirements. Oversee GSuite administration and integration with other platforms. Manage software backup processes, ensuring regular testing and reliability. Administer and maintain the VOIP platform. Maintain network documentation for accuracy and compliance. Recommend technical solutions with clear timelines to support operational and project needs. Ensure the network remains up to date to deliver the best possible user experience.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master's degree is an advantage). Networking certification in Mikrotik (beneficial).

Experience & Knowledge



Proven experience in IT and networking technologies. Previous ISP or telecommunications industry experience. Hands-on experience with Juniper, Mikrotik, Cisco, Dell, HP, and Ubiquiti. Strong knowledge of Layer 2 protocols (VLANs, QinQ, STP). IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and subnetting. Familiarity with routing protocols (e.g., OSPF). VPN technologies, including EOIP, PPTP, and non-traditional applications. General IT exposure: VoIP, Wi-Fi, analog phones, ChromeOS, MacOS, and computer operations fundamentals.

Skills & Attributes



Network design and architecture expertise across LAN and WAN environments. Strong background in network security (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS). Cloud networking skills, ideally with Google Cloud experience. Knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and NFV. Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Network performance optimisation (QoS, traffic management). Accuracy and attention to detail in configurations and documentation. Strong teamwork and mentoring abilities. Adaptable to new technologies and evolving environments. Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
