Our client is an established engineering firm specialising in the design, manufacture, and service of high-performance centrifugal pump systems. With a national footprint and ISO-certified facilities, they operate at the forefront of fluid handling technology. You'll be joining a respected, technically driven team that delivers customised pump solutions to mining, chemical, and industrial sectors across Southern Africa.
You'll design and detail mechanical components for engineered-to-order pump systems, support fabrication and machining teams, and solve complex technical challenges from concept through to assembly. This role includes generating detailed drawings, reviewing manufacturing feasibility, performing engineering calculations, and supporting quality assurance and continuous improvement across multiple departments.
Job experience and Skills Required:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (ECSA registration preferred)
- Minimum 8 years' experience in mechanical design within the pump or rotating equipment industry
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and ERP systems (e.g. Bluebox or similar)
- Strong knowledge of metallurgy, material strengths, mechanical loads, tolerances, and hydraulic principles
- Hands-on experience working with fabrication and machine shop teams
