Our client in the Financial Services industry is currently looking for a Senior Market Structure Specialist, in Johannesburg, Gauteng.Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic thinking on the dynamics of Market Structure in South Africa and internationally to ensure delivery against departmental strategy.
• Provide input into the Groups strategic thinking informed by a thorough analysis of data.
• Provide input into microstructure design through research and benchmarking against international exchanges to understand trading patterns.
• Apply market microstructure principles to produce relevant market quality metrics that informs the business liquidity strategy, execution functionality and support the generation of revenue
• Conduct research on market structure trends driving implicit costs and markets liquidity profile of the business against competition.
• Leverage microstructure design to recommend latest trade and order types driving new Execution Functionality adoption in local and global markets.
• Provides expert, informative presentations, short opinion pieces and factsheets on the business markets microstructure dynamics.
• Profile and rank clients according to revenue; trading activity and other metrics to identify product gaps; track Asset Class profitability and drive Business Development.
• Maintain market structure analytics assets, i.e. code repository; databases; vendor contracts and SLAs on the business proprietary; 3rd party databases and font-end reports/views)
• Build strategic business; Industry and Global networks/ relationships of thought leaders through utilising social media platforms, market related conferences, road shows and training interventions to grow the client base.
• Weekly; monthly and/or ad-hoc business markets trading activity profile and client ranking reports.
• Regular review of market structure analytics assets; vendor contracts and SLAs, including ensuring processing and approval of vendor/3rd party Purchase Orders.
• Thought leadership material on the business Liquidity Profile, execution functionality and market metrics.
• Continuous personal development in alignment with market trends and technological advancements.
• Quarterly of xe2x80x98on-the-job training via PDP.
• Attend industry workshops and/or conference events.

• MSc. Degree.
• 10+ years Data Science and programming experience.
• 10+ years in financial markets covering diverse asset classes.
• Extensive experience in technology and business process requirements, business case development, and project administration.
• Expert in Trading Technology across multiple asset classes.
• Advanced data analysis skills to make informed decisions and recommendations.
• Proven ability in database management systems to query and extract data.
• Strong coding/programming skills (Python, MATLAB, C++)
• Demonstrated ability to provide expert advice within the organization and the industry.
• Expert knowledge of global markets market structures across all asset classes.
• Ability to build or maintain and manage market structure analytics assets, i.e. code repository; databases and front-end reports/reviews .
• Advanced understanding of multi-asset market regulations and their impact on strategy.
• Strategic allocation of resources to maximize departmental outcomes.
• Advanced implementation of client service processes for all asset classes.
• Demonstrably clear and effective written and oral communication abilities to internal and external stakeholders .
• Strong capabilities in building and maintaining relationships across a broad spectrum of industry entities.

• R120 000 R150 000 per month dependant on qualification and experience.
