Exercise the powers delegated in terms of the legislation; authorise, vary, or withdraw certificates, licenses, permits and approvals in respect of aircraft, its operation and flight operations.
Initiate regulatory review and submission to CARCOM.
PLANNING
Develop annual oversight plans and safety promotion plans.
Develop and monitor mentoring plans.
Scope to include both local and foreign based organisations.
FINANCIAL PLANNING AND CONTROL
Develop accurate activity revenue and costing, planning and budgets.
OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
Define the scope of oversight requirements, scope of work, and resources required, schedule work program and control performance.
LIAISON AND POLICY
Compile an effective and realistic Manual of Procedure.
MANAGEMENT OF DIRECT REPORTEES
Manage key performance areas of directly reporting personnel to ensure achievement of their agreed objectives.
Represent the Authority in negotiations and liaise with stakeholders and industry bodies.
COMMUNICATIONS AND SAFETY PROMOTION
To project a satisfactory image of the SACAA to all stakeholders.
Qualification:
Relevant Engineering Degree (NQF7), or Diploma in Aviation Safety Management with trade certificate (e.g., Aircraft Mechanic or Structural Worker or Avionics or Radiotrician or Electrician) or Equivalent qualification
Experience:
5 - 7 years Management Experience
10 years relevant Aviation Technical Experience in Maintenance/Engineering
