A leading global manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to join their team at their KwaZulu-Natal facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving plant reliability, managing statutory compliance, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and executing cost-effective maintenance strategies in a high-performance production environment.
Position: Senior Maintenance Engineer
Location: Umkomaas, KZN
Minimum Qualifying Criteria:

• BSc/BEng/BTech/Advanced Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 5 to 10 years of engineering experience in heavy industry or manufacturing
• Minimum of 5 years managing multidisciplinary maintenance teams
• A valid Government Certificate of Competency (GCC)
• MDP or equivalent will be an advantage
• Paper Machine experience is highly desirable

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all OHS Act statutory requirements
• Support and drive adherence to ISO and OHSAS standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 50001, 55001, OHSAS 18000)
• Champion plant reliability through monitoring and predictive maintenance
• Oversee shutdown planning and execution to meet schedule and budget
• Identify and implement cost-effective engineering solutions
• Manage spares inventory within working capital constraints
• Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Deliver capex and equipment renewal projects within scope and cost
• Foster strong collaboration with production and multidisciplinary teams
• Support equipment quality control plans and engineering documentation
• Lead and develop your maintenance and production team, ensuring optimal performance and accountability
