The successful candidate for

Senior Lecturer

in the Department of Library & Information Science will be responsible for the following key performance areas:




Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the LIS discipline especially Artificial Literacy, Information and digital literacy education, Document description, ICTs in libraries, Open Scholarship, Digital curation, Research data management and Research methods. Conduct research and publish in the LIS discipline. Undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision. Provide academic leadership and administration. Undertake curriculum development and assessment. Participate in community engagement and outreach programmes. Demonstrate technological and digital proficiencies in the LIS environment.





The successful candidate for

Lecturer

in the Department of Library & Information Science will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the LIS discipline especially Artificial, Digital and Information Literacy, Artificial, Digital and Information Literacy Education, Document Description, ICTs in Libraries, Open Scholarship, Digital Curation, Research Data Management and Research Methods. Conduct research and publish in the LIS discipline. Supervise Honours students and co-supervise MA students. Actively participate in departmental, faculty, and university administration. Engage in curriculum development and assessment. Participate in community engagement and outreach programmes. Demonstrate technological and digital proficiencies in the LIS environment.

Minimum Requirements



Minimum Requirements - Senior Lecturer




PhD or equivalent, in the field of LIS. Demonstrated experience (at least 3 - 5 years) in facilitating learning and teaching, preferably in the fields of Artificial, Digital and Information Literacy, Artificial, Digital and Information literacy education, Document description, ICTs in libraries, Open Scholarship, Digital curation, Research data management and Research methods. A record of quality peer reviewed publications in the field of LIS - at least 4 articles in accredited journals and/or books published in reputable presses, or equivalent recognised outputs. A record of successful postgraduate supervision - at least two (2) MLIS students graduated. Evidence of the integration of community engagement with learning and teaching and/or research.

Minimum Requirements - Lecturer




MLIS or equivalent Master's degree in the LIS field. Evidence of innovative teaching practice at undergraduate level. Demonstrated experience (at least 1 year) in facilitating learning and teaching, preferably in the fields of Information & AI Literacy, Information Literacy Education, Document Description, ICTs in Libraries, Open Scholarship, Digital Curation, Research Data Management and Research Methods. At least 1 article in an accredited journal and/or a book chapter published in reputable presses, or equivalent recognised outputs.

Recommendation




Registered for a PhD or near completion of a PhD.
