Job description

This appointment will be Fractional, with the staff member retaining their current appointment at their home institution or private practice, but being jointly appointed by UKZN. The staff member will be expected to provide leadership in the design and development of the Educational Psychology curriculum for the Masters in Educational Psychology programme. The incumbent will also be requested to facilitate seminars, engage in case supervision, as well as supervise masters and doctoral students. The staff member will be expected to travel to and work at UKZN during the period of appointment, as needed or in discussion with the Academic Leader/Dean.

The incumbent will report to the Academic Leader & Dean Head of School

Minimum requirements

PhD degree in Psychology or a related field. A professional Masters degree in Educational Psychology. Three (3) years of working experience in either Teaching, Lecturing, Research, or Industry (in the relevant field or discipline). Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level. A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level as appropriate for the level. Demonstrate ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team. Evidence of registration with the Health Professions Council as an Educational Psychologist, with 3 years' experience post-registration.
