is currently seeking a Senior IR Officer, who is able to assist and provide advice, consult, and facilitate disciplinary and grievance procedures and policies, implement and maintain a comprehensive IR admin system, maintain all labour-related policies and procedures, and represent the company at the CCMA and BCCEI. The successful candidate must be a team player and willing to travel extensively.
Responsibilities:
Employee Relations
Disciplinary Code, Grievance Procedure, Disciplinary action in cases of Injury on Duty, Sexual Harassment, Dismissal due to Operational Requirements
Performance enhancement.
Dismissal due to Incapacity/Ill Health, Dismissal due to Incapacity/Poor Work Performance, Educational Assistance
Employment Matters
Advise and assist Directors, Managing Directors, Managers, Site Agents, and employees on the following:
Labour Relations Act (Act 66 of 1995)
Basic Conditions of Employment Act (Act 75 of 1997)
Unemployment Insurance Act (Act 30 of 1996)
Skills Development Act (Act 97 of 1998)
Employment Equity Act (55 of 1998)
Stefanutti Stocks HR Manual and Procedures
Grievances
Advise employees on the formulation of the grievance if required
Discuss the settlement outcome with the employee and supervisor concerned
Monitor the grievance and decide what action to take.
Discipline
Represent the Company in disciplinary proceedings
Prepare the strategy to be followed
Represent the company in appeal proceedings
Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration
Represent the Company at CCMA
Administration
Ensure the maintenance and safekeeping of personnel records.
Attend to all correspondence to respond to or make inquiries, to obtain or disseminate information, and to issue instructions to employees.
General
Responsible for the effective and efficient running of Labour relations
Must be physically visible. This is to be done by regular visits to sites.
Responsible for the establishment of sound labour relations between managers/supervisors and employees
Must visit sites regularly.

Requirements:
Grade 12. A Tertiary Qualification (Degree/Diploma) will be an advantage
Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in Civils Construction
Must have good planning and organizational skills.
Good problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Good communication skills.
Able to work as part of a team
Able to pay attention to detail
Must have a Code 8 Driver's License and his/her own vehicle
Must be able to handle clerical and administrative work.
