Position Title: Senior Insights Analyst

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of a Senior Insights Analyst to be based at the Rosebank office. The successful candidate will report to the Insights Lead.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Provide commercialized analytics and insights across full commercial team, as well as assisting with ad-hoc analyses / research to actively drive value to the business.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Regular accurate analytics / data relevant to the various stakeholders

• Storytelling through numbers
• Ability to draw on multiple information sources to unearth the real drivers of growth and performance and extract value creating and actionable insights.
• Ongoing checking of data xe2x80x93 accuracy & compliance to definitions
• Download and source all relevant data from agencies, repositories and make it available to the team in a usable format.
• Formulating recommendations that are grounded in data findings and can guide critical decision making.

Ad-hoc analytics as requested by the team

• Assistance with ad-hoc requests for information as needed.
• Analytical and strategic thinker in every task to ensure optimisation of task, rather than just answer to the question.
• Support and advise as well as drive meaningful insight centric thinking through a good consumer understanding (behaviour & trends)

Developing new data sources

• Make recommendations to Category / Brand / Sales teams for any changes or new additions to the data
• Gather and consolidate feedback on the usage, requirements, and issues on platforms, reports, and data and drive usage of the reports
• Regular check-ins with stakeholders to ensure that the reports are still relevant and meeting needs

Mentor and guide the junior analyst

Provide guidance and support to the junior analyst xe2x80x93 report creation, analysis, presenting

Build strong relationship with research partners

• Management of access to agency software and platforms
• Ongoing tracking of agency deliverables
• Partner with agencies to drive insights
• Sourcing new agencies

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- 5+ years of experience in the FMCG and/or Food service industries

- Experience in an Insights role, or similar

- Engaging presenter (experience in creating and delivering presentations, story telling)

- Strong verbal and written communication

- Confident numerically

- Ability to analyse data confidently

- Problem solving and solution orientated

- Performs work accurately and effectively with attention to detail

- Experience in analytics of a variety of data sources

- Exceptional Excel and PowerPoint skills

- Proficient in BI tools

- Excellent working knowledge of how the FMCG and Food Service industries work and trends

- a Mindset for deadline driven delivery

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric
• BCom / BSc with Maths and/or Stats and/or Economics
