Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • The role includes strategic responsibility for:
  • B-BBEE compliance and transformation;
  • Regional Talent Management;
  • Workforce development; and
  • Cross-border HR operations.
  • South Africa oversight of Southern African countries: Namibia, Mozambique, Lesotho, Botswana and Zambia.
  • Staff/Team Compliment: 500 (South Africa) and 45 (Southern Africa).
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
  • Honours or Master's Degree preferred.
  • Professional Certification (e.g. SABPP, IPM, SHRM), a strong advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years progressive HR experience, with 5+ years in a Senior Leadership role, ideally across multiple African countries.
  • Proven experience in B-BBEE strategy development, implementation, and audit readiness.
  • Strong working knowledge of South African Labour and B-BBEE legislation, with exposure to regional labour frameworks.
  • Previous experience in a multinational or Pan-African organisation, a strong advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Deep expertise in B-BBEE compliance and transformation strategy.
  • Cross-cultural leadership and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of African labour markets and regulations.
  • Organisational development and change management.
  • High-level communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret HR metrics and data.
  • Proficiency in HR systems (e.g. SAP, Sage, Workday).
Key Performance Indicators:
Report to the Managing Director, with a dotted line to the Board of Directors:
  • B-BBEE scorecard improvement and audit outcomes.
  • Achievement of Employment Equity and transformation targets.
  • Compliance across all regional labour jurisdictions.
  • Talent acquisition and retention across the region.
  • Regional leadership and employee engagement indices.
  • Timely and accurate HR reporting and analytics.
  • Strategic alignment of HC policies with business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Regional human capital leadership.
  • B-BBEE strategy and compliance (South Africa).
  • Talent acquisition and development.
  • Labour relations and compliance (for SA and Africa countries).
  • Compensation and benefits.
  • Transformation and diversity.
  • Operational HR excellence.
