Role:
The Senior Global System Administrator (Azure) reports to the Manager, Enterprise IT & Resiliency and works closely with 11 professionals between system, network, database administrator and security. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting, designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level infrastructure across multi-cloud and on-premises environments. Will also work across geographical boundaries to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of global IT infrastructure while mentoring technical teams and driving automation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and reduce business risk.
Your Day with Equisoft:
Administering and managing global infrastructure across hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, OCI) and on-premises data centers
Designing and implementing complex system integrations across heterogeneous platforms (Windows Server, Linux distributions)
Leading root cause analysis for critical incidents affecting global operations
Developing advanced automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, Bash, and Terraform for infrastructure as code
Collaborating with global technical teams to optimize performance and implement best practices
Managing enterprise identity and access management across multiple cloud platforms and Active Directory environments
Designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
Conducting capacity planning and performance optimization for global systems
Mentoring intermediate and junior system administrators on technical best practices
Providing strategic guidance on cloud migration initiatives and infrastructure modernization
Developing and maintaining comprehensive system documentation and runbooks
Leading security hardening initiatives and compliance requirements (ISO 27001, SOC 2)
Evaluating emerging technologies and recommending strategic infrastructure investments
Interact with Level 1 and Level 2 technicians providing support and guidance on difficult issues.
Participating in global on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support
Requirements:
Technical
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Information Technology or College Diploma combined to 3 years of relevant experience
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in infrastructure and system administration roles with demonstrated expertise in enterprise environments
Deep expertise in Windows Server environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IAM and IIS
Advanced Linux administration skills across multiple distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) including Nginx, networking, and security
Proven experience architecting and managing multi-cloud environments Microsoft Azure: Virtual Machines, Azure AD, Virtual Networks, Storage Accounts, Azure Monitor, Azure Virtualization
Advanced scripting and automation capabilities (PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform)
Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) and CI/CD pipelines
Expertise in monitoring and logging solutions (Datadog, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch)
Deep understanding of security principles, implementation, and compliance frameworks
Experience with backup solutions for hybrid environments
Understanding of ITIL processes and practices
Experience mentoring and developing technical team members
Willingness to participate in global on-call rotation for critical infrastructure
Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written)
