Job SummaryHire Resolve's client is a leading multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm dedicated to providing innovative solutions to complex challenges.Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing geotechnical engineering expertise on various projects, from conception to completion. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client objectives while adhering to industry standards and best practices.Responsibilities: * Conduct geotechnical investigations, site assessments, and feasibility studies to assess ground conditions and provide recommendations for engineering projects.

• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including interpretations of site investigations, analysis of geotechnical data, and design recommendations.
• Perform geotechnical analyses using appropriate software and methods, such as slope stability analysis, foundation design, and numerical modelling.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with project requirements and relevant regulations.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, and inspections as required.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and networking initiatives.
• Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in geotechnical engineering, and incorporate relevant knowledge into project work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BSc/BEng) in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.

• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or eligibility to register.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, specifically within the Transport discipline.
• Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics.
• Experience in designing foundations for buildings and structures, slope stabilization, ground improvement, earthworks, and retention structures.
• Proficiency in foundation and pile design, settlement analysis, earth pressure calculations, slope stability assessments, and bearing capacity evaluations is highly beneficial.
• Demonstrated proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and report-writing skills.
