Senior Full Stack Ruby on Rails Engineer

A high-growth team in the financial technology space is seeking a Senior Full Stack Ruby on Rails Engineer to help lead the development of their core payment platform. This role offers an opportunity to play a key part in expanding a mission-driven product that empowers merchants and shoppers alike.
The successful candidate will design and implement new instalment-payment features, contribute to secure payment systems, and strengthen API offerings using a Ruby on Rails and Hotwire stack. Working closely with the Tech Lead, they will take ownership of performance optimizations and architectural improvements while contributing to the technical evolution of the platform.
Duties and responsibilities
- Design and build new instalment-payment features using Ruby on Rails and Hotwire
- Maintain overall platform stability and performance
- Implement secure and reliable payment integrations
- Extend and enhance the merchant-facing API
- Solve complex engineering problems and contribute to architectural decisions
- Collaborate closely with the Tech Lead to influence technical direction
- 8+ years of experience as a backend or full stack engineer
- 5+ years building production applications, preferably with Rails 7
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, SQL, and JavaScript
- Suitable for a permanent position (no contract options available)
- Experience with Heroku
- Devops
