Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all fire safety and fire system design aspects on assigned projects, including fire detection, suppression, smoke control, and egress planning.
• Develop rational fire safety designs using local (NBR, SANS 10400, ASIB) and international (BS 9999, NFPA, IFEG, BS 7974) codes.
• Perform advanced simulations including CFD, hydraulic calculations, and evacuation modelling.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers and review BIM team outputs (2D & 3D).
• Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and tender packages.
• Liaise with clients, architects, and regulatory authorities to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Attend and lead site inspections, client meetings, and project reviews.
• Manage project budgets, resource planning, time allocation, and fee proposals.
• Contribute to business development activities and strategic planning.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Fire, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech Eng) is essential.
• 5-10 years of experience in fire engineering, preferably within consulting.
• Strong knowledge of fire codes, safety regulations, and system design practices.
• Proficiency with fire simulation software (e.g. Pyrosim, Pathfinder, Canute).
• Experience with Data Centre projects is highly advantageous.
• Valid Code B driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
