Essence of the job:
Perform professional accounting work, including compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. This role requires an understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles, as well as experience in bookkeeping. Responsibilities may include any or all of the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries, fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation of trial balance or financial statements, cost accounting, bank account reconciliation.
Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level
Undergraduate Degree / Honours Tertiary Degree NQF level 7: Finance Degree completed
Articles are advantageous.
Minimum Requirements:
Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised (
1 year to 3 years).
Minimum 4 - 6 years' experience as an Accountant in an Insurance/Financial Services Sector (preferred).
1 - 2 years' operating in a Senior Accountant role.
Good knowledge of accounting principles in business and application thereof IRFS, Income Tax Act and VAT Act.
Knowledgeable in Fixed Assets.
Computer literate including working knowledge of excel and related formulas.
Understanding of and ability to prepare reconciliations, resolving of problems and identifying errors.
Accounting Software knowledge and experience.
Ability to engage at senior management level.
Ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment.
