The role

This is a dynamic role, where the Senior Financial Accountant will lead a large Banking team with members located in South Africa, France, Germany & Poland and liaising daily with the Melbourne Head Office and other global locations. You will be responsible for providing guidance, instruction, training, and leadership to your team.

The Senior Financial Accountant - Banking will be responsible for:

The Global Banking Function and all its financial records

Banking:

Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all Global team members:

• Daily Banking Functions & reporting

• Daily Banking reconciliations for stores

• Daily missed banking reporting

• Weekly cash variance reporting

• Variance investigations and leasing with Loss Prevention team

• Weekly Petty Cash expenditure reporting

• Weekly upload of bank statement into Oracle

• Weekly AP payment reconciliations in Oracle

• Monthly Gift voucher liability reconciliations and reporting

Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all global month-end functions & reporting

• Monthly Sales reconciliations (Futura vs. Oracle journals)

• Monthly Bank account reconciliations

• Monthly till difference journals

• Monthly cash-in-transit reconciliations and accounting

• Monthly Cash Clearing account reconciliations

• Monthly Centre Voucher liability reconciliations

• Monthly Turnover reporting

• Monitoring and reviewing your teamxe2x80x99s management of Zendesk

• Monitoring and reviewing your teamxe2x80x99s management of Finance inbox

• Annual Sales audit certificate preparations and reconciliations

Effective management for all banking tasks for new countries including but not limited to

• Team champion for Adyen and Avalara set ups and relationship management

• Responsible for negotiating and completing paperwork to open Merchant service accounts

• Loss prevention management
• Cash float arrangement

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• CA or CPA qualified
• Minimum 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a Senior Accountant role leading a team (end-to-end accountability)
• Minimum 7 years Bank Reconciliation experience, ideally in Retail

• Treasury experience is desirable

• Experience in Financial Software (ideally Oracle)

• Excellent oral and written communication

• Hiring manager experience

• Capable of managing projects from concept to completion

• The ability to absorb leading edge technology developments and execute in a manner that delivers lasting efficiency gains.

Skills, knowledge, and personal qualities required:

• Excel xe2x80x93 Advanced level (Macros, Xlookup, Modelling) - Non-negotiable

• Strong numerical skills

• Demonstrated leadership and end-to-end team accountability

• Solid technical accounting knowledge

• Retail Experience Desirable, an understanding of retail banking principles
