Job Description

The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the Company. This role is crucial in ensuring that financial resources are managed efficiently, financial policies are adhered to, and strategic objectives are met.



FINANCIAL



Key Responsibilities:



1. Financial Strategy & Planning:



Develop and implement the company's financial strategy in line with business objectives.



Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across the group.



Cost Control:

Identify areas for cost optimization and work with operational teams to implement cost-saving measures without compromising business performance.



2. Financial Reporting:



Oversee the preparation of the financial statements for the group.



Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with statutory regulations and accounting standards.



Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts reviewing financial performance, risks, and cost saving opportunities for the Group.



Variance Analysis:

Analyse variances between actual performance and budgeted figures. Provide insight into why variances occurred (e.g., higher costs, lower sales) and recommend corrective actions.



3. Financial Control & Compliance:



Internal Controls:

Design and implement strong internal control systems to prevent fraud, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and safeguard company assets.



Ensure compliance with internal controls across the Group.



Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance standards.



Audit Coordination:

Liaise with external auditors to facilitate the year-end audit process. Ensure audit findings are addressed, and recommendations are implemented.



4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management:



Manage group-wide cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity through the preparation of weekly and monthly cashflow reports, including detailed analysis and comparisons to prior periods.



Preparation of predictive cashflow reporting.



Oversee the management of the groups funding.



Oversee and manage the collection department ensuring all monies are being collected timeously, identifying and attending to bad debts/late collections.



5. Risk Management:



Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks across the group, including currency, interest rate, and operational risks.



Ensure appropriate insurance coverage for the group's operations and assets.



6. Tax Planning & Optimization:



Oversee the group's tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring full compliance.



Tax Compliance:

Ensure that the group complies with all tax regulations in the jurisdictions where it operates. This includes filing tax returns, VAT submissions.



Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the group's operations.



7. Team Leadership & Development:



Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, ensuring continuous professional development.



Performance Management:

Set performance goals for the finance team, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide feedback.



Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaboration within the finance department.



8. Stakeholder Engagement:



Act as a key point of contact for various third parties such as auditors, and regulatory authorities.

Communicate financial results and strategy to shareholders and other key stakeholders.



9. Systems & Process Improvement:



Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and processes to improve efficiency.



Leverage technology to drive automation and improve reporting accuracy.
