Job Description
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Matric certificate/ equivalent
BSc / B Tech in Mining or Quantity Surveying
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Projects, Word, and PowerPoint)
Familiarity on different forms of Contracts i.e., FIDIC, NEC
Knowledge of the Health & Safety Act and Regulations Mine
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
5 to 10 Years active scheduling and pricing of mining tenders (Capital Development, Shaft Sinking, Contract Mining)
Hard Dollar - estimating package (Advantageous)
Compilation of Bill of Quantities
Proficiency in scheduling (MS projects / Primavera)
Excellent negotiation skills
Analytical skills
Administering and checking tender submission documents
Ability to work under pressure
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of tenders to include preliminary methodology, equipment selection, life cycle costing, labour resourcing and production rates
Schedule & manage bidding process and coordinate role player input
Consult with engineers, owners and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to the bid
Examine blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, equipment, and Labour estimates
Preparation and pricing of Bill of Quantities
Compile and schedule reviews on tender clarifications and record keeping
Consult with stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and risk identification
Prepare project start-up documentation and handover tender documents and support to site management
Accountability & liability for tender & associated documents
Ensure all tender documents are stored for future reference
