Purpose of Job
To validate correct design methodology and parameters in excavation design and to support overall mine design, to ascertain coal mines stability of Sasol Group mining in line with mine health and safety act and applying in-depth industrial engineering (IE) skills, techniques and knowledge to leverage company resources to rationalise, optimise and improve both production and non-production processes.
Key Accountabilities
Deliver services and intelligence in line with industrial engineering, in the assigned OME
Enable the Sasol Operations Standards framework by evaluating the strategic asset life-cycle value optimisation for all assets impacted by the company's long-term strategy
Identifying opportunities via system analysis and develop and implement lean, practical and focused business solutions
Enable and improve operations at Operational services
Identify improvement opportunities
Investigate opportunities, design practical solutions and sustainably implement
Supporting and enabling the Sasol Operations Standards framework by applying industrial engineering skills, techniques and knowledge to leverage company resources to rationalise, optimise and improve both production and non-production processes
Support candidate industrial engineers
Assure operating performance and drive improvements within operations
Develop practical implementation solutions for processes governed by Operational services
Support business with development of business cases and adhoc motivations/memorandums
Drive business improvement actions at Operational services
Establish, and assure a standardized approach to strategic asset life-cycle value optimisation within the operations framework
Provides input into the high level IE improvement plan
Influence and assist operations hub in the roll-out & sustained application of improvement solutions developed
Participate in communities of practice to embed the asset management principles and continuous improvement
Translate and cascade IE goals into own performance goals
Improve on processes
Identify improvement opportunities and implement improvement solutions
Demonstrate One Sasol way behavior
Manage multi-level interfaces and integrate effectively. Interact with relevant internal and external stakeholders
Remain competitive compared to our competitors.
Delivery against budget and reporting calendar vs target.
Working capital & cash position vs target, cash flow vs forecast.
Price and TCO performance vs index and benchmarks.
Overall accountability for strategy to strive towards best in class safety performance and continuous improvement of key safety metrics to maintain license to operate.
