Minimum Requirements

BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering (Essential/Minimum) 6-8 years of relevant experience in maintenance, hazard identification, risk assessment, procurement, project engineering, and management in the heavy industry (Essential/Minimum) Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer (PrEng) (Essential/Minimum) Completion of a Management Development Programme (Recommended/Desirable) Possession of a Government Certificate of Competence in Engineering (Recommended/Desirable) Strong proficiency in technical design, erection, installation, and project management Expertise in budget management and cost efficiency within engineering projects Capability to oversee and ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards and legislation Proficiency in managing professional networks and participating in relevant engineering forums and communities Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro) Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide expert technical support across engineering disciplines to drive project execution and business growth. Design innovative engineering solutions to enhance project efficiency and operability in accordance with company standards and regulations. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards in all operations and engineering designs. Manage and optimize budgets, focusing on cost efficiency and recovery in engineering projects. Lead and oversee maintenance, risk assessments, and quality assurance in the heavy industry sector. Develop and maintain strong client relationships and collaborate with stakeholders to address technical needs. Contribute to the development of high-performance teams by promoting company values and performance excellence. Participate in relevant engineering forums and manage professional networks to stay abreast of technological advancements. Produce high-quality reports and documentation that align with group standards and client requirements. * Foster a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
