Job Summary Our client is looking for a Senior Engineer who will be responsible for leading the design of renewable energy systems while ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. The role involves accurately predicting project costings, calculating system productions, and ensuring the designed systems are robust. Staying updated with technological developments in the Solar PV and Energy Storage Industry is essential to offer innovative customized solutions to clients. Design renewable energy systems adhering to relevant regulations and standards. Conduct site inspections to accurately design and cost new projects. Prepare budgets for proposed projects. Create detailed drawings for information and construction purposes. Complete all necessary calculations and documentation for utility approval. Prepare as-built drawings. Measure and create bills of quantities for installations. Accurately simulate system performances and/or productions. Be part of the commissioning team during project commissioning. Assist with engineering-related operations and maintenance issues. Contribute to creating design tools for the engineering department. Assist the project-specific Project Manager with engineering-related project issues. Lead a design team of Project Engineers, Interns, and Draughtsman to complete designs. Review designs from project engineers and interns. Professionally approve designs for compliance with regulations and standards. Provide professional sign-off for plants in compliance with regulations and standards. Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software. Ability to work with multiple disciplines of projects. Ability to handle multiple projects in parallel. Strong organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices. Ability to work within budgets and meet deadlines. Excellent problem-solving skills. Creative thinking. Attention to detail. Good deductive reasoning skills. Good inductive reasoning skills. Ability to manage a team and provide guidance to junior staff. Qualifications: Minimum qualification of B.Eng, BSc. Eng, B.Tech Eng in Electrical Engineering. Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
