ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

1. Position: Electrical Engineer

2. Contract Reference: The Conditions of Contract are the "General Conditions" which form part of the "Conditions of Contract for

EPC/Turnkey Projects ("Silver book") Second edition 2017" published by the Federation Internationale Des

Ingenieurs - Conseils (FIDIC) and the "Particular Conditions" will be applicable and shall be used

7. Scope of Work:

An Electrical Engineer designs, develops, and tests electrical systems and equipment. They apply the principles of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism to create new products and improve existing ones, ensuring compliance with safety standards and electrical codes. Electrical engineers may work on projects related to power generation, distribution, manufacturing, transportation, or building systems.

8. Key Responsibilities:

Creating technical drawings and schematics.

Estimating costs and project timelines.

Overseeing the installation of electrical systems.

Developing maintenance and testing procedures.

Conducting feasibility studies for new projects.

Providing technical support to clients and contractors.

Participating in research and development of new technologies.

Managing electrical engineering teams.

Ensuring projects meet specifications and codes.

Developing and integrating marine energy generation with the electrical grid.

Designing power systems for stormwater pumping stations.

This includes selecting appropriate equipment, sizing transformers and cables, and ensuring proper grounding and safety.

Implementing control systems for water treatment plants.

This involves designing and integrating sensors, controllers, and communication systems to monitor and regulate water quality and treatment processes.

Developing instrumentation and control systems for pipeline networks.

This includes designing and installing systems to monitor pipeline pressure, flow, and leaks.

Overseeing the installation of electrical systems in underground tunnels or pipelines.

This requires careful planning and coordination to ensure safety and compliance with relevant regulations.

Troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment in remote or hazardous locations.

This requires strong technical skills and the ability to work effectively in challenging conditions.

9. Qualifications and Experience:

Electrical Engineer/ Technologist

BSC, BEng or Btech

Master Electrician Registration HV

Minimum of 10 years' experience in heavy current application in water related utility.

10. Reporting Line:

The Electrical Engineer will report to the Site Design Lead.

11. Performance Indicators:

System Efficiency: Monitoring and optimizing the performance of electrical systems, including energy consumption and operational efficiency.

System Reliability: Minimizing downtime, ensuring the reliability of the systems, and addressing any electrical issues promptly.

Safety and Compliance: Adherence to safety regulations, proper installation and maintenance practices, and compliance with relevant industry standards.

Quality Control: Ensuring the quality of electrical work, adherence to design specifications, and proper documentation.

12. Health, Safety, and Compliance:

Ensure procurement practices align with HSE regulations and sustainability principles.

Maintain ethical procurement practices and prevent conflicts of interest.
