DUT Projects is looking for an experienced, versatile
Senior Draftsperson / Design Technician
to join our growing team. This role is best suited to someone with a solid understanding of construction site operations and a proven ability to translate complex, multidisciplinary requirements into clear, coordinated technical drawings.
We operate at the intersection of construction planning, temporary works design, and BIM integration -- and we're looking for someone who thrives in that space.
What You'll Be Doing
Your day-to-day will span multiple disciplines, including but not limited to:
Developing
site layout plans
for a range of construction and temporary works scenarios.
Preparing
Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)
and
Pedestrian Accommodation Plans (PAPs)
with accurate signage layouts and routing.
Assisting with
temporary site establishment designs
, including hoardings, access routes, and logistics planning.
Supporting the team with
3D visual representations
,
construction sequencing diagrams
, and
technical presentation material
(depending on skillset).
Interpreting and integrating architectural, civil, and services information into coordinated construction drawings.
Requirements
Minimum
5 years of relevant experience
, either on-site or within a design/coordination role.
Strong
AutoCAD
proficiency (essential).
Revit
experience is a strong advantage, particularly in multi-disciplinary coordination.
Deep understanding of
construction methodology
, site logistics, and technical drawings.
Must be based in Cape Town, South Africa.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and interface with project managers, engineers, and technical staff.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with South African
road signage standards
and construction traffic layouts.
Familiarity with BIM workflows, model-based planning, or rendering software such as Twinmotion, Lumion, or similar.
A portfolio showing multidisciplinary technical work.
