Senior Data Engineer
Job Description
Job Summary
The Rebellion (okay, a booming SaaS company) is scaling fast and needs a skilled Data Engineer to build and maintain the infrastructure supporting over 130TB of interstellar data. You'll design secure data lakes, automate real-time and batch pipelines, clean customer data for benchmarking and AI, and ensure data integrity across all systems. Reporting to the Director of Data & AI, you'll help future-proof their architecture and be part of a team making data the real force behind smarter decisions.
Skills & Experience:
Jedi-level Python & SQL skills
Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
Proficient in data pipeline tools: Kafka, Airflow, NiFi
Cloud fluency (AWS/GCP) and command of Linux/Unix
Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT, data modelling & data security
Familiar with SaltStack, RabbitMQ, and BI tools
Bonus points for machine learning exposure -- the force is strong with you
Qualification:
Grade 12 (essential)
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (preferred)
