To provide expertise and support and to perform the planning and scheduling activities required to ensure the on-time and in-full delivery of managed transport solutions by maintaining a database of suitable sub-contractors, in order to increase quality and turnaround time in alignment with predefined work objectives (as per agreed standard operating procedures.

Ensure that documentation, operation systems and admin systems required by the company and clients are adhered to and kept up to date.

Provide continuous feedback on task delivery to support decision making.
Communicate to all parties involved regarding any incidents that might affect the on-time and in-full delivery of a load.
Maintain good relationships with transport sub-contracting service providers.
Resolve any client queries and discrepancies on delivery documentation.
Compile and generate optimised primary transport plans.
Supervise Controllers and Assistant Controllers.
Qualifications required
Grade 12 certificate.
Diploma or studying towards a Logistics and Transportation Diploma would be advantageous.
Skills and experience required
Good working knowledge of vehicle planning & scheduling, supervising drivers, briefing and debriefing, enforcing controls and HSSE.
Up to 5 years of experience in a similar environment, with at least 2 years tactical leadership / specialist experience
Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment.
Sound knowledge of tracking systems and Microsoft excel and word.
Able to measure and monitor performance in terms of trips standards and driver performance.
Exceptional communication skills internal and external.
Must be willing and able to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and public holidays on a roster system.
