The Opportunity
We are looking for a seasoned, Gauteng-based professional within the cost accounting domain (specifically shared services) to support our ambitious growth in the ITFM sector. This is a senior role requiring someone who brings both technical depth and consulting experience, with the ability to lead client conversations, manage complex implementations, and provide trusted guidance to C-suite stakeholders.

The Role - Senior Consultant - Financial Services (ITFM / TBM)
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Consultantto strengthen our financial services practice (banking, insurance, and asset management).
As a Senior Consultant, you are the face of MagicOrange. You will:
Lead client implementations, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
Apply strategic thinking, project leadership, and advanced analytical skills to guide clients through large-scale transformation.
Be accountable for engaging senior stakeholders, understanding their business drivers, and aligning solutions to deliver measurable value.
Mentor junior consultants and contribute to building delivery capability within the team.
Your success will be measured not only by your ability to deliver client outcomes, but also by your ability to represent MagicOrange as a trusted advisor in the financial services sector.
Qualifications:-
Required
A relevant Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent.
CA(SA) or CGMA Qualification or similar.
5+ years' experience in ITFM, TBM, or technology consulting with a focus on financial management and business value realisation.
Proven track record of managing complex client engagements and stakeholder relationships.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Strong grasp of IT cost structures (e.g., infrastructure, applications, labour), budgeting, and service costing principles.
Extensive experience with Power BI, Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, Indexes, Power Query).
Accounting knowledge and experience with General Ledgers/ERP's, journal entries, accounting, and reconciliations.
Advisory and consultancy.
Preferred
Experience with SaaS, Cloud Cost Optimisation, and FinOps Practices
Consulting background with Big 4 or niche ITFM/TBM consultancies, or the banking industry

Extensive experience with Activity Based Costing, Cost Transparency, Cost Modelling, IT Cost Optimisation, IT Financial Management (ITFM) or Technology Business Management (TBM) is essential.
Management and project experience in a Financial Services environment
Solid understanding of IT infrastructure stack
