7. Scope of Work:
The Construction Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of a construction project on-site, ensuring it's completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Construction Manager oversee construction activities, manage subcontractors, and ensure adherence to project specifications and regulations.
8. Key Responsibilities:
Managing all aspects of the construction site, including planning, leading, scheduling, organising and execution.
Ensuring that there is efficient project execution and adherence to project requirements.
Ordering materials, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery.
Monitoring safety standards, conducting quality control checks, and preparing site reports.
Managing project schedules, addressing delays, and monitoring costs.
Communicating project progress, addressing concerns, and building relationships.
Providing technical guidance and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
Ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
Assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of project.
Attend site meetings and keep site records, conduct quality and safety inspections, maintain quality control checks, and motivate the workforce.
Compiling and submitting of daily diaries.
9. Qualifications and Experience:
A BSc Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred.
Registration with ECSA or SACPCMP
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Construction industry.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in a senior role within construction management and construction of large commercial and retail developments
Computer literate in Buildsmart, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Projects.
Working knowledge of CCS planning and estimating programmes is essential.
Working knowledge of Construction Regulations, Building Contracts (JBCC/NEC), and Contract Specifications is essential.
Ability to coordinate key subcontractors
10. Reporting Line:
The Construction Manager will report to the Contracts Manager.
11. Performance Indicators:
Ensuring the project is completed within the agreed-upon timeframe.
Maintaining the project within the allocated budget.
Ensuring the project is completed to the required quality standards.
Effectively managing and controlling project costs.
Optimizing the use of resources, materials, and subcontractors.
Measuring the efficiency of the workforce and subcontractors.
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
Meeting all contractual obligations and ensuring that the contract is maximized.
Implementing and monitoring waste management plans.
12. Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure procurement practices align with HSE regulations and sustainability principles.
Maintain ethical procurement practices and prevent conflicts of interest.
