Senior Communications Officer (Grade 14) Division of Communications and Marketing

Main Objectives
Working closely with the Manager: Marketing and communication on the execution of the unitxe2x80x99s responsibilities including communication research and networking, information and content development, media production, editorial duties (writing, editing, quality control and assurance), process management, online content management, coordinating and disseminating communication products, and monitoring of media coverage for the University. Is responsible for the coordination of all official internal and external communication activities related to Rhodes University. Will work closely with the Senior Social Media Officer as it pertains to communication via social media.

The requirements
A relevant B Degree in either Journalism and Media Studies, or Marketing, or Communication, or related field plus approximately 4 years relevant experience where such experience includes: -

  • Experience in content production and management
  • Experience in developing strategic communications plans
  • Experience in dealing with media
  • Strong writing skills

Remuneration per annum (Grade 14):
Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R523 466
Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R693 238
