Senior Commercial Tax Lawyer - Legal - Cape Town

Are you a Commercial Lawyer with solid commercial experience and good understanding of Tax Law, Company Law and Trust Law with 12 or more years post articles relevant experience at a reputable firm? Duties & Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and enforce commercial and other legal documents to ensure our legal rights and provide advise thereon. Advise on all commercial matters of the organization.
• Provide clear succinct legal advice, counsel at all levels of the organization on complex legal matters from contracts to litigations and more.
• Act as counsel on a variety of legal issues on a daily basis in a timely and effective manner.
• Provide legal guidance on new product/feature development
• Oversee legal matters requiring external legal assistance
• Identify, research, analayze and advice relevant regulatory requirements in SA and other jurisdictions and translate into business solutions
• Support the continuous improvement of internal legal department by identifying and implementing improvements in process forms and operations.
• Prepare detailed regulatory submissions to motivate for certain tax policies which would be beneficial to the interests of clients and/or the organization

Desired Experience &Qualification

• Minimum BCom and BA LLB Degree
• Post graduate LLM in Taxation/HDip Tax (optional)
• Admitted Attorney or Advocate of the High Court of South Africa
• Articles from a reputable firm
• Demonstrate a good understanding of Company and Trust Tax

• Have demonstrable experience as a Commercial Lawyer with a track record in a similar environment.
• Excellent Planning, Prioritizing and Organizing abilities.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must have managerial ability to oversee 3 or more other professional lawyers.
