Role: Senior Infrastructure Engineer/CloudOps
Location: Illovo, Johannesburg
Our client is a successful cloud-first, software-driven solutions company (ISP/MSP), their innovative offerings are available across their extensive national network, spanning Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. They are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer/CloudOps to join their dynamic team to enhance and command cutting-edge software and hardware in captivating Private Cloud and Data Management realms. They have a collaborative and supportive environment and would suit an Engineer who has a passion for new technology!
Duties include

• Customer Solution Architecture design
• Identify & Investigate new tools and technologies
• Monthly Infrastructure reporting - Capacity, Availability and Risk
• Solid understanding of their Private-Cloud, Data Management and Public Cloud Environments, including networking, Software, Hardware and Cloud offerings
• Creating and Maintaining vApp & VM templates for fast deployment within their Private Cloud environments
• Solid understanding of Active Directory User Management and assistance with support escalations
• Daily Infrastructure health checks and active system monitoring
• Configuration, patching & maintenance of infrastructure and software (VMware and VEEAM)
• License and Web Certificate renewals & implementations
• Installing, monitoring and utilizing VEEAM for customer and internal
• Installation and maintenance of new hardware equipment, cabling, labelling and rack space
• Maintenance of IP allocation for CloudOps related infrastructure

Requirements:

• 8-10+ years in infrastructure including Administration: Linux & Windows, virtualisation, cloud and networking
• Scripting & automation
• Database knowledge will be beneficial
• Basic Kubernetes and containerisation will be beneficial
• VCP (VMware Certified Professional would be beneficial)
• VMCE (VEEAM Certified Engineer would be beneficial)
• Networking certification a plus (CCNA, JNCIA, N+ etc)
• Attention to detail and quality of work
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment in collaboration with your team
• Good communication skills
• Leadership skills and ability to mentor junior Engineers
