Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Senior Bookkeeper
to manage and oversee the financial records across our group of companies.Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage the financial records for multiple entities within the group. Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis. Manage and oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and other statutory requirements. Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a group of companies or a similar environment. Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., Diploma in Accounting, BCom in Accounting). Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Xero, or similar) and MS Excel. Strong understanding of South African tax laws and financial regulations. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
