Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer with 7+ years of hands-on development experience, strong expertise in building RESTful APIs and microservices using the Quarkus framework, and proficiency in message-driven architectures using Kafka. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in PostgreSQL databases, containerization with Docker, and CI/CD pipelines, with the ability to deliver robust, scalable backend solutions in an Agile/DevOps environment.

TEAM: Infrastructure Engineering - Homologation & Type Approval
The Homologation product ensures sustainable compliance of products throughout the entire product lifecycle, guaranteeing audit-ready and responsive processes for current and future type approval requirements through digitalization and automation. This includes type approval applications, coordination with technical services and authorities, commissioning and controlling type tests, and providing approval feedback from authorities. Qualifications / Experience
Minimum mandatory qualifications:

• Relevant IT Degree

Minimum mandatory experience:

• 5+ years in a Mid to Senior role
• 7+ years total experience required
• Backend development with Java
• Experience with Quarkus Framework
• API design and development
• Working with messaging frameworks (JMS, Kafka)
• SQL language using PostgreSQL
• Unit testing with frameworks like JUnit
• Docker container knowledge
• Git version control (GitHub Enterprise)
• CI/CD with build and deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions)
• Experience using Maven as build tool

Advantageous experience:

• Having worked with Cloud technologies on AWS or Azure
• Angular framework, HTML, CSS, JavaScript or similar
• Good understanding of frameworks and libraries like JavaScript, jQuery, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
• Familiar with UX and using Figma

Essential Skills Requirements
Backend Development:

Database:

• SQL language using PostgreSQL

Role Requirements
Development & Architecture:

• Deliver a streamlined user experience with opportunities to work on the frontend code base as well as the full stack
• Conduct with feature team members, system analysis, design, development and testing for assigned technical products or applications within the context of an agile/DevOps delivery model
• Maintain and develop, deploy and operate backend and frontend cross-platform applications based on Java and Angular Frameworks

Quality Assurance & Testing:

• Implement robust automated test cases to ensure technical solutions meet expected outcomes and business objectives

Documentation:

• Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols as well as required system documentation

Operations & Support:

• Support operational excellence goals through strong operations knowledge
• Resolve escalated support topics as part of tier-3 DevOps role to ensure the highest availability of critical applications

Upgrades & Solutions:

• Plan and execute upgrade of existing applications, tools, and features
• Create solutions and solve problems using a cloud-native toolchain, to ensure world-class uptime and business agility
