Key Performance Outputs
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief Airport Planner, and will be responsible for but limited to the following:

  • Prepare and/or lead the preparation of Master, Precinct and Development Plans.
  • Perform capacity and demand analysis of landside, terminal, and airside systems.
  • Develop conceptual designs and briefs to address capacity shortfalls.
  • Develop planning related business strategies.
  • Provide input into the Permission Application process.
  • Manage and coordinate the integration of ACSA development frameworks with national, provincial, and local government policies, development plans and initiatives.
  • Manage integration with agencies and authorities on development plans and initiatives.
  • Provide inputs into provincial, local, and national policies, frameworks and plans.
  • Plan, manage and execute Planning projects within time frame, quality, and cost.
  • Monitor detail designs to ensure compliance with original intent of planning brief.
  • Perform trend analysis.
  • Anticipate change and align reporting and information requirements.
  • Plan, organise, lead and control subordinate's activities to ensure sub-functional objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Coach team and provide mentorship to Graduates within the Integrated Planning function.
Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of organisational goals.
Technical Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such, will be required:
  • Bachelor's degree (4 years - 480 credits) - BSc (Civil/Industrial Engineering)/ BEng (Hons.) /BSc (Town and Regional Planning)/ BArch is essential.
  • 7-8 years operational experience in airport planning
  • 4-5 years operational experience in People and Stakeholder Management is essential.
